In the Naples area we have many events to celebrate this weekend commemorating the Declaration of Independence. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states. Did you know that Congress had voted to declare independence on Juy 2nd, but it was not actually declared until July 4th? (source: Wikipedia)
